Hello!
Thank-you to our parent volunteers on our field trip to see Elephant and Piggie! We could not have done it without you! The kids had a wonderful time and that is because we had enough help to make it a good experience.
This week we will continue our study of butterflies. We will be reading the book Born to be a Butterfly by Karen Wallace, Monarch and Milkweed by Helen Frost and Leonid Gore, Starting Life Butterfly by Deborah Hiligman, Gotta Go! Gotta Go! By Sam Swope, Painted Lady butterflies by Martha E. H. Rustad. In small groups we will be diagramming the life cycle, students also will be continuing to identify (by letters and letter sounds) and graphing them while playing a fun game. We will explore concepts of quantity such as most, least and the same. We will also be planting out seedlings this week (weather permitting).
Please be sure to send your child in shoes that they can run in. Flip flops can be hazardous when children are climbing on the playground. We don’t want anyone to get hurt!
Don’t forget, we will be holding pre-school registration June 8-12th. There will be no student attendance during that week. Please be sure to make other arrangements for your children. Also the week of June 15th we will be holding our end of the year activities. I will send a list of events home for that week.
