I hope every student had a great first week of school. I am so thrilled with the progress the children have made in only 4 days! It is sure to be a great year!

This week we are going to start of classroom project based around theĀ garden. Each day we have been going outside to pick what is ripe and ready to eat. Thus far, we have tasted cucumbers, tomatoes and green beans. Over the next few weeks, we will be learning more about fruits and vegetables. We will be reading Pete the Cat I Love my White Shoes by Eric Litwin, Eating the Alphabet and Growing Vegetable Soup by Lois Ehlert.

Next week we will start creating our color of the week book. Please bring in a small picture or small item that is yellow on Wednesday. We will glue these items into a classroom book. Remember we need VERY small items so everyone’s contribution fits! Also please bring in your Kissing Hand Project for Monday! If you have not brought in your family picture and the What’s in a Name project please bring that as soon as possible!

If you have not brought in your 3″ binder, please do so. PLEASE let me know if your child has any allergies and fill out an allergy form because we occasionally have food in the classroom.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend! I will see you Monday!
