We had a great week and our vegetable soup was a hit! Most of the students really enjoyed eating it, and if nothing else, they enjoyed making it! We picked, sliced and mixed the soup together. It turned out great! Here are some great pictures of the day!

This week we will start a unit on apples. We will compare and contrast the garden to an apple orchard, diagram the parts to an apple, taste apple cider and practice sorting by size (big, medium, little). We will be reading the books Apple Farmer Annie by Monica Wellington, Big Red Apple by Tony Johnston and Apples, Apples, Apples by Nancy Elizabeth Wallace.  For our cider tasting, if you can donate a 20 pack of plastic cups we would greatly appreciate it!

This week we will be learning about the color blue. Please send in your blue pictures by Wednesday. Please make sure the picture, cutout, or item is SMALL so we can fit everyone’s contribution onto a piece of paper. Also don’t forget to write your child’s name on the back!

Also parents are being asked to please enter and exit through our rear classroom door. The door is located on the blacktop in the back of our classroom and is labeled with the number 13. You can still park using your parking pass and simply walk to the back of the building. We apologize for all of the changes but we are trying to find the safest and most efficient way of entering and exiting. I appreciate your understanding in advance!

Have a great weekend!
